does anyone know where the connections for the components go on a solderless breadboard for the $50 dollar robot tutorial?

This You will most likely have to figure out Yourself. Look at the wiring diagram in the tutorial, go from connection to connection wiring them with jumper wires on Your breadboard and marking on the sheet the ones You've done. Looking at the complete circuit on breadboard will be very confusing due to amount of jumper wires required making whole circuit very messy.
