Title: Battery question

i have 6 Polymer Lithium Ion Battery - 2000mAh and 3.7 V

and i want to use them to control two stepper which required 12V and 0.68A

do i need a battery with above 0.68A to run the stepper?

do i need to make the battery in parallel to have above 0.68 A current to run the stepper or make three of them in series and run with 12V and 2000mAh

2000 mAh = 2 Ah

2 steppers at .68 A each = 1.36 A

the batteries will work fine

run batteries in series for 12 V

Three batteries in series to get to 12V.
Two such strings in parallel for longer runtime.
Usually no need to separate different batteries for different motors.
Also, what is the C rating of the batteries?
A LiPo can typically drive its mAh rating in amps well - this is known as "1 C."
Many modern batteries can drive more (but for a shorter duration.) For example, a 20 C, 2000 mAh battery could drive up to 40A of current without overheating/safety concerns.
