AVR ISP2 Programmer Australia
« on: May 23, 2010, 04:38:31 AM »
Hey,

After spending three weeks tracking down parts for the $50 robot I have managed to find everything except the AVR ISP2 Programmer in Australia. Is there anyone who knows of a reliable store online or retail and maybe has used that I can get a AVR Programmer form? I am happy to spend up to about $50 for one, but I don't want to pay another $40 for shipping and I don't want to buy the PonyProg.

Any help would be great,
-Derme

Be aware that those on eBay are clones, they are not official avr isp programmers

I still swear by these.

http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1300

with an Australia distributor:

http://www.littlebirdelectronics.com/products/Pololu-USB-AVR-Programmer.html

$19 or $21

They emulate an AVR ISP perfectly and WinAVR uses them just fine. They are so cheap I just build them into my robots and buy more.

Hmm... I wanted the same thing and posted a post about that too!  ;D

I got a clone of the AVRISP mkII programmer somewhere from Hong Kong from Ebay, and the shipping was free for some reason. So far, it has been quite promising.

I think it might of been this one?

I got one from

www.farnell.com.au

Just run a search for the part you want.

Good place to get harder to find parts in Oz.
I was so disappointed to learn that half the people I know are under average........but the other half more than make up for it.

So have you use them with the ATMEGA8? And when you brought it did you buy from Little Bird Electronics?

Yes, yes I have.  Allow 2-3 weeks for shipping. I have got the AVRISP2 and a good 800A(peak) SCR from them, here in Australia.  Am happy with their service.

Isn't it just Farnell.com re-branded to a new name? It looked exactly the same to me except the header.
