Yeap, RoboRealm is no longer free. Steven personally emailed me to let us know about the change.
Hi John,
FYI, as of this morning we just started charging $89.00 for RoboRealm with a 30 day free trial . . . [edited] . . . as of this morning we had to make that change in order to continue to bring new and exciting modules to RoboRealm while still making a living. While we'd love to continue being linked to from SOR we understand that things have changed and you may want to seek alternative systems.
Hopefully we can use that additional income to increase awareness of RoboRealm and provide better integration with products like the Axon.
Thanks!
STeven.
And from the website:
There is an $89.00 fee for a single RoboRealmâ„¢ license.
The only difference between the licensed version (available for download after purchase) and the trial version is a faceless mode which permits the RoboRealm application to run invisible to the user. The trial version does NOT provide this capability.
Also, the more clever of you probably have older copies that don't have trial limitations saved on your PC. I'm banning you guys from posting links to it here or talking about sharing it. Steven worked hard to write the RoboRealm software, it's his decision to charge for it.

Crap, and I just recommended Roborealm to a friend this morning and told him it was free....
Oh well, I still have copies of Roborealm saved.
I don't understand why they don't just distribute the older version of Roborealm for free and sell the upgraded version?
-
So I'm a little confused. We can keep older versions without the trial for free?
I think he did a good job creating the software for free for such a long period of time. I can imagine it being really hard and time consuming, not to mention expensive.
Good piece of software...

Ouch! This is a shocker!
But whatever will be will be. I have an older version, so I'd better make a backup encase something happens to my machine! Whew!
Maybe someday when Roborealm get's really good from the new revenue they'll be making, I'll buy a copy.
Thanks for the head's up, Admin!

Bad timing, I just got my webcam.
Ahh well. At least there is a trial. :)

nooo, i was looking forward to this.... i guess i will have to wait a while to get it now :-\ but he does have the right to some money for all is work ;D
-
Damn... I was going to try it out after I made progress with my robot. :-\
On the bright side, it will get even better now, and it already was an excellent program from what I've heard. Even so, I think the price is reasonable; if they can sell photoshop CS4 for $699.00 (stupid, especially since GIMP is free and almost as good), then RoboRealm can be $89.00 (free is better though...).

I've been talking with Steven on this . . .
Would anyone be interested in buying an Axon + Roborealm combo for some % discount on the total?
-
hmmm, why not
might attract more custormersmto your axon ;D
-
i think it would be a great item to sell,
it cant hurt to try can it? what price are you thinking?
-
oh no! i was looking foreward to do stuff with roborealm in the summer!!! (because im too busy now)...and now i have to throw another $90 out the window =(. oh well, at least SciTech02 is right. Roborealm will get better now.
-
I would consider buying the package as I am considering buying an Axon at the moment, it kinda depends on price though...
-
it would seem like a good idea to make a package out of the two..
just a Q, eg if you buy version 2.4 will you have to buy again to get 2.5?
like does the $90 cover all updates in the future?
-
I would think so :-\
