Title: selection of a robot servomotor

we are designing a 2 axis robot arm. after calculating the motors torque needed(3000Nm), how should i proceed to select my motor and which servomotor is better for my appilcation(helical, planetary,bevel...)

Is the type of gears in the gearbox not the type of servo motor.

Their catalogs/pdf's have lots of good info. They also have a motor/system selector to help you decide.
I've used their ACR controller from parker to build a multiaxis system and it has a nice set of DLL's to write your own windows based HMI if you want or you can use the software they provide too.
If you look at the link you'll see most joints with that kind of torque are single or multi stage helical-planetary or helical-planetary-spiral-bevel depending on whether the motor is inline or right angle and what reduction ratio you want.
