The origin of my butler robot's name

A bunch of people have been wondering about it and I named it thinking that Chives was the name of a standard English butler ,mistaking it for the name Jeeves. I used the name Chives in a joke among friends when saying that my friend's maid had a butler under her bed named Chives. So I built my butler robot and named it Chives. Later people told me of my mistake and the name stuck.

By the way chives is a type of onion ( not the robot Chives).

I don't think it is offending. It says "romanian gypsies" (could have been hungarian gypsies), that means gypsies from Romania, not all romanians are gypsies. And it is true that there are gypsies in Romania that do fortune telling, so it is probably also true that they use chives for that.

Old fashioned gypsies were called romany gypsies who were well known for fortune telling etc... the term romany actually came from romanian gypsies (even though most werent romanian. They used to travel to romania to sell their wares from surrounding countries, at some point romanias rich powerful people started enslaving the gypsies and forcing them to do work).

Dont be offended, nobody ever said that everybody in romania is a gypsie, but then being a gypsie is a way of life and many of them are proud to be gypsies.

Also chives produce large purple flowers on the ends of their stalks which are edible and slightly onion flavored. recipe idea: use in any salad to produce color and add taste

Chives does have a butleresque ring to it
