Title: CMU students - free trip to Philippines to consult robotics
Post by: Admin on March 06, 2010, 09:16:35 AM
Yet another reason to go to CMU ;)

They didn't have enough applicants during the initial round, so you have a good chance of getting accepted.

The Technology Consulting in the Global Community Program is looking for additional candidates for this summer 2010. We are recruiting students that will work as robotics consultants for a high school and college in the Philippines.  We are specifically interested in robotics club members who have experience with education in robotics.  The student consultants will:

 * Travel and live for free in the Philippines for 10 weeks
 * Gain international work experience
 * Become the local expert in the field
 * Learn soft skills that are valuable in industry or graduate school
 * Have a short-term Peace Corps-like experience

 For more information, including how to apply, go to: http://www.cmu.edu/tcingc (http://www.cmu.edu/tcingc)

And if you have additional questions, please contact program director Joe Mertz <joemertz@[email protected]> or (Siying) Diana Hu <siyinghz@[email protected]> who is an alum of the program from last summer.

Sincerely,
--Joe

Got my application completely submitted to CMU and am nervously awaiting a reply...

It should be illegal to put people through this much stress  ;)

This seems like a great program. If I get accepted maybe I can do this next summer!

Wish I went to CMU sometimes. Wish my grades were good enough to apply there :-\
