So cool

Kinda makes me think my own efforts are futile - especially when a lump of metal is more agile than my own aging skeletal frame. Do I build one for fun - or buy one and have it 'inserted' as the ultimate 'hip operation' !!!

How many degrees of freedom do YOU have !!??

Them japanese fighting robots never fail to amaze me.

Where do they fit batteries?

How do they fit that many sevros into such a small unit?

Its just a shame theyre not autonomous!

I spoke with someone who apparently asked that same question, and the answer he got was that some of these builders remove the casings off the servos and redistribute the electronics, gearing, and motor to fit inside of the limbs more compactly. Amazing. :o

They typically use batteries that last about ~10 minutes, and swap them out when they are low on charge.

You just got your wish - the black one of the left is autonomous. It doesn't do that well, but it works!
