4D Systems microCAM - still camera

It looks like just a still camera with no video processing from the title and price tag, but I just want to be sure. Can anyone that can make more sense of the description verify this?

I read the FAQ section on video cameras, but it still a bit unclear how they work. In general, is this mostly equivalent to the camera breakout portions of the Blackfin and CMUCam (minus the video processing boards)? Would it have the capability to send data to a dedicated image processing board fast enough to basically act as a video camera similar to the Blackfin and CMUCam?

Did you read the data sheet?
If you use raw mode 80x60 pix, you should be able to transfer it fast enough to call it video.

It converts the image into JPEG, and then transmits the image serially. Thats it.

You'd need your own mcu that can convert JPEG back into raw, then actually process it.

According to the data sheet it can transmit RAW in lo-res.
