Where to get hitec connectors
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:20:04 PM »
I've been trying to find some of these - same connector as on the end of hitec servos. I've found some on the net but they're around $2 each, which seems pretty high to me. Anyone know of a source that's cheaper?

Thanks

Joe

Make sure you get genuine Hitec connectors, too. At least I think that's the problem I've been having. I've bought several hitec-lookalike connectors from some online stores and Fry's, and the holes on the side that connect to the pins are deceptively large making the resulting connection very loose. So loose that the connector would not be able to hang on unless they were straight up vertical.

Comparing the ones I've bought and the actual ones that come wired to the Hitec servos, the holes are indeed larger but it's tough to tell if they aren't side by side.

Maybe there's another industry-standard size that I'm not aware of?
The only way to top an upright screen, keyboard, and mouse is to eliminate the need for humans to touch a PC at all. Oh, hello there Mr. Robot... what would I like you to do, you ask?

Do you specifcly want Hitec Connectors of the same sort of connector?

if you want Hitec connectors specifically look here

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9639

and the futaba connectors

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9632

If you want just  that type of connector as used in the tutorials around the forum and in the tutorials have a look here:

Hope this was what you were looking for.

Yeah I've had some experiences like that too. Fortunately I found a stash of three-pin connectors that I forgot I had, and they work fine. They also are easy to get and a lot cheaper: http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1902

Thanks

I don't know if they are "actual" hitec connectors, but I've been scrounging through old computers to find connectors that work. It seems they are used for connections to the motherboard for things like on/off buttons, LEDs, Speakers or USB ports. Best of all the price is free!
