Polulu USB AVR
« on: November 17, 2010, 09:06:52 AM »
Can i use the polulu USB AVR(using 6 pins instead of 10) programmer just like the
AVRISP2 programmer(which i found a little too expensive).
Can i just wire the 6 pin headers like in here http://www.societyofrobots.com/robotforum/index.php?topic=1045.0.
Will i need any other software like pony prog,
Can i just connect the six pin conncector to the headers on the robot and the other end to the programmer and then use the usb cable provided to conncet it to the computer?images of the cales are here http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1300

Hello.

It's a standard AVRISP programmer, so you just need to connect it to your AVR via the included ISP cable (if your platform has a 10-pin header, it's easy to make an adapter) and to your computer using the included USB cable.  You will need programming software that supports AVRISP, such as AVRDUDE or AVR Studio.
