Title: Want an opinion for using a type of motor for a specific task
Post by: umairmukati on May 06, 2011, 02:10:08 AM
Hi,
I am new to this website and had just begun to make a robot in which I have to use a motor for driving it. It is approx 5 kg heavy. Please tell me which is the best motor which can have a better torque and a min. speed of 200rpm.
Regards,
Umair Mukati.

How fast are you looking for your robot to go?  How large are the wheels?  Take a look at the Robot Dynamics Tutorial (http://www.societyofrobots.com/mechanics_dynamics.shtml) and the RMF Calculator (http://www.societyofrobots.com/RMF_calculator.shtml).  They should give you a better idea of what specs you will need.

Have a look at this one --> 12v/dc 1:18 high perf. gearbox motor (http://shop.conrad-uk.com/hobbies/modelling/modelling-engines/modelling-gears/model-built-driving-engines/233131.html#). Two of them should do the job  ;)
