Hello everyone! I'm new here but not to the overall side of robotics. I am a bit more mechanically minded and have decided to start on my first big electronics project. The game series "Fallout" contained 3 sci-fi looking robots that caught my eye and I figured now or never. This post I wanted to focus on the "eyebot" mostly. After doing some looking, I realized Japan (or China) had developed a sphere looking robot that well, flew. It was running off of a fan and had four "flaps" inside the case the controlled whichever way the contoller desired. I could do that, and wire a remote contol system, but I had a few concerns that I figured you all would know or have at least a better general idea of.
1: Was the black outer shell of Japan's eyebot aluminum or some kind of thin metal? ANSWERED: A type of cardboard or plaster of some sort.
2: How big of a fan and how much electricity would it take to run it?
3: Could a battery fit on board?
4:If 75% of the shell would have been covered, or most of it, could there be some way we still could get it to fly?
Any help would be great, I will post a picture of the eyebot and the Japanese video.
