What kind of basic? PICbasic? There are a bunch of different variations.

In that case, PICAXE has written a 3-part manual that is very helpful, I beleive you can access it right from the Picaxe Programming Editor.

Go to the data sheets area, somewhere around there is a file called manual1 manual2 and manual3
