Title: Autonomous Vehicle
Post by: TejayBoman on April 12, 2012, 12:58:29 PM
Hello, I'm developing an Autonomous Car, and I'm curious what you guys would recommend as a camera. I'm sort of using the Google cars as a template.  We've already decided on the HDL-32E(I understand they use the 64E) as our LiDAR and we're mostly set on using the Bosch LRR3(4 of them) for radar. However, we're undecided as to what the best camera for computer vision and SLAM would be. I'm not sure if ToF is required. Does anyone know what Google uses for their cars?

Thank you for any advice.

OK, I've done some research and came across Allied Vision Technologies cameras. A few teams used the Prosilica on their DARPA cars. Anybody have any experience or opinions on  these cameras?
