All this time we've been trying to make robots that go to the fridge that bring us beer, but apparently we got it all wrong!
The solution is so obvious now . . .
NEW: HEINEKEN WALKING FRIDGE COMMERCIAL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjAZ5esOBZw#ws-lq-lq2-hq)

funny
-
wow! that is an awesome ad man!
now picture this....
largeish biped chassis with a beer backpack...
once you get stability worked out it may be plausible...
but i still like the beer launcher, anyone remember that one?
-
Now who's gonna build this? Any takers?
-
airman00.... next step for your butler robot is biped chassis!
-
The end of robotic research as we know it.
Man gets interested in Robots.
Builds Line Robot.
Builds Walking Robot
Builds Walking Robot with arm.
Builds Walking Robot with arm and fridge.
Gets first beer delivered to couch.
Gets second beer delivered to couch.
Gets third beer...

How could we not guess!
Well, you may not exactly have to create a biped. But what's the fun in that?!?!?! Maybe this is the motivational project idea I've been needing ;D
-
You know those bank air-tube systems? Image one of those in your house... press a button and a can of soda or beer just flies into your hands
-
or maybe a rail system on the celing to transport stuff all over the house
-

I would make one with wheels, but it than can't go up stairs and I don't have a mini fridge. Someone could make this with tracks so it could go up stairs but I wouldn't trust the weight going up more than 1-3 stairs.
-
It might be cheaper in the end to just buy a mini fridge for every room ;D

Now what's the fun in THAT???
I've seen a few robots capable to bring the cold beer to you. The one I liked the most was Bar2D2, even tho it wasn't autonomous and it did not have voice command and all the "nice" stuff.

but then you have to get up to get the beer... although im 14 and don't drink it... im an occasional vodka boy...

its just like futurama again! except now you drink the people...

the autonomous part wouldn't be that hard would it? i guess you could carry an ir beacon with you at all times while watching t.v... but that robot was mad...

*doors open* AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
LOL NICE FIND!
-
heh.
nice one.
tis a continuation of this line of commercials:
Heineken - Walk in Fridge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIutgtzwhAc&feature=related#ws-lq-lq2-hq)
dunk.
-
Both of these commercials were really good. I swear, they stole airman00's idea. :o :P
Now all we need to create is a flying robot fridge...
-
I don't even drink beer but I still somehow find these vids amusing . . .
beer robot - german engineering (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqAw2O4Qmbc#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)
-
that makes two of us admin ;D
i got scared when i thought the robot tipped the glass over to fill it up!
i like this robot... and want one...
-
I wonder what the arm was gonna do after it picked up the full glass ::)
