Bootloader for Sparkfun 9DOF Razor IMU
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:50:15 PM »
Hi

The Sparkfun 9DOF Razor IMU as sold uses the Arduino bootloader for uploading code. Now that Webbot's Project Designer supports the Razor's MCU (ATmega328) can I use the Axon2 bootloader, FBoot GUI, written by catalinene33 to upload my Razor firmware to the Razor? I would rather not try this cold as the Razor is expensive and hard to source in the UK.

Thanks

Are you asking if you can flash the Fboot bootloader onto the Atmega; or just flat out use the GUI to upload programs?

If you wanted to replace the Arduino bootloader you need a hardware programmer to flash the new bootloader. If you have the hardware programmer, why not use that to upload your code every time anyway?

Or am I missing something. (completely possible)

If what you meant was overwriting the Arduino bootloader with the FBOOT bootloader using a hardware programmer, here is the .hex:
