Title: Motor Control
Post by: I-Jeff-I on December 15, 2009, 05:02:31 PM
Hey all,

I was looking to control 3v DC motors with AA's, controlled by an arduino.  I know there are lots of threads on this but none specific to my case.  I was hoping someone could explain how exactly to drive a pair of these motors and with which parts/IC's/designs.  Thanks a lot.

Well, you'll need a motor driver because connecting the motor directly to the arduino will fry it.
Maybe look into the l298d, i think it would suit your needs fine and its easy to control.
Plus there are tonnes of threads on this site showing how to hook them up to the arduino, just look around.

Just a note - you can't run an Arduino off of 3v. You need at least 5v.
