340 ohm resistors
« on: July 19, 2009, 01:22:06 PM »
I lost my 340 ohm resistors and don't want to pay $6 for 5 resistors from digikey. Is there anywhere else I can get 340 ohm resistors for the $50 robot for free shipping?

Shipping isn't free.

FexEx doesn't ship for free. Neither does UPS or USPS.

The only time there is free shipping is when the shipping amount is figured into the cost. So you either have to pay a lot for the resistors (to pay for the free shipping) or you pay 10 cents for the resistors but then pay for shipping.

How much do you want to pay for the resistors?

Do you have a RadioShack nearby? Although the resistors are like $1.20 for 5 (last time I checked), you get them straight away! ;D

P.S. You could use this tool to find your local store.

Remember the rule: when ordering electronic components, always order more than what you need. (especially for cheap parts like resistors).

Go on ebay, buy a bulk pack of resistors which will last you a long time. I got a pack of 2500 resistors for $20. It's worth it.

I agree, it's better to have multiple components for future projects. You can't or shouldn't buy only the minimum.

I lost my package of 340ohm resistors and that is why I need to get more. Well, looks like I'm just going to have to pay $5 for shipping (nothing I can do since Radio Shack doesn't have them :/).

well, if your really desperate you vould go through a few older electronic devices and try finding a value close to 340ohms, this may take a while though...
