I believe my photoresistors got damaged when I was heat shrinking them with a hair dryer, but I am not sure? Is there any way to know if your photoresistors are damaged?

Measure its resistance when light shines on it, and when light doesn't shine on it. If it changes its probably not broken. If you don't have a multimeter, then you can use a voltage divider circuit and an LED to see if its resistance changes.
