Title: RIP Howard Gordon (Blackfin creator)
Post by: Admin on April 15, 2011, 11:31:59 AM
 :-[

Howard Gordon is the creator of the Blackfin camera. I've worked with him behind the scenes over the last few years to get the Blackfin robot-friendly, and he has supported SoR through ads for the last two years.

ps - I've been informed that sales of the Blackfin will continue through his wife and his CEO.

edit: It happened way back in Aug, 2010, but I just found out. I suspect no one in the community knows . . .

Worth adding that Howard was also a good, and knowledgeable, contributor to this site and he certainly helped me to get Blackfin support into WebbotLib. I will miss his genius.

I urge you to read his obituary - not just because of the Blackfin - but because if you know what a JPEG image is, or MPEG video, or have an MP3 player or have streamed video from the internet then Howard has touched your life amongst millions of others.

Rest easy.
