Okay, I've been through the calculations several times as have my students; and we keep coming up with the same answer. I am sending this out to the group to see if we are misinterpreting anything on use of the SoR motor calculator.
Our goal: select the correct motors for our robot.
Our criteria: based on the input parameters on the SoR motor calculator.
Mass = 6 lbs.
Desired Velocity = 9 in/s (0.75 ft/s)
Desired Acceleration = 0.4 ft/s^2
Expected Efficiency = 60% (treaded robot, rough terrain)
Incline Angle = 60 (extreme part of course)
Wheel Diameter = 2.5" (0.21 feet)
Powered Wheels = 2
We also specify a motor output rpm of 90. With this we get a required RMF that is pretty intense; so I'm hoping to get some feedback on what the group comes up with, or if I'm missing something.
I would appreciate any comparative data.
Cheers,
