5V Linear Regulator

i was wonder the max volatge the 5V Linear Regulator can take

i already read the spec sheet
robot will rule the world and i will be building them

yeah. and 30v will be turned into heat

AKA, thats so inefficient, its pretty much not worth it... not to mention youll need a huge heat sink on the VReg if you run 30 volts through it to get 5 out of it. Invest in a switching regulator.

Learn to read the datasheet better.

and wasting that much energy is ridiculous.
