machineshops: be safe! (this will scare you to be safe)

Remember to always be afraid of large spinning blades, as bad things can happen if you aren't. When you lose the fear, you might not take all the necessary safety precautions.

Hi,

Always wear a hair net if you have to be long haired it should read.

A Pakistani friend of my sister had an accident around 15 years ago. She had extremely long hair (all the way down and covering her behind) and when in a go-cart race, her hair got trapped in the axle and her entire scalp were torn off.
And if the whole tearing part doesn't echo in your heart, remember that in Pakistan (and a lot of surrounding countries), girls have a lot of pride in their hair (even if it's usually hidden from all but the husband and nearest family), so it's a lot like having your identity thrown apart.r

Yep, crew-cut rules near fast spinning high torque stuff.
Regards,
Søren

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?
Please remember...
Engineering is based on numbers - not adjectives
