Title: Robot simulation software
Post by: Sriram Emarose on August 24, 2013, 01:14:50 PM
Hi,
Can anyone suggest a simulation software to simulate different types of robots?

these are my expectations...
1. I`d like to construct a robotic arm of X degree of freedom and based on my program(i.e, kinematics solution), the arm should move..
2. I`d like to simulate a drone in which i can control the rotor RPM and see the response

Am sorry if anything wrong in question.. I cant put it in a better way. I am a beginner and trying to explore things first by simulation. Please do suggest me some software to be begin with. Thanks in advance.

Check out VREP by Coppelia. You can dl the educational license for free. Nifty powerful software. Relatively straight forward to use. Run through the tutorials

Well Mr. Sriram,

You can use the MATLAB's GUI, to simulate a robotic arm. You have to create a GUI first and then type the kinematic equations in the GUIs program. Download both the attachments in the same folder and run the .m file alone.
