Title: Trapdoor on the back of robot
Post by: zizou244 on April 14, 2013, 05:12:49 AM
Hello,
We're building a robot that collects balls and then stores them inside its body. In order to unload the balls into the collect zone, we're thinking about a trapdoor/window system that opens/closes on the back of the robot.
Something like this  :

The green thing hanging from the robot is the trapdoor, and the idea is to let the balls slide over the trapdoor into the blue zone.

The little violet wall is 3 cm high.

We're collecting ideas and suggestions about how to open/close the trapdoor using either servos and idle arms, you know like a drawbridge. Or maybe hold the trapdoor with a couple of chains with pinions on each side.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you

I think a sevo and some lever bars will work great!
