Will the Axon or AxonII serve my purpose?
« on: July 09, 2010, 09:05:38 AM »
Hi,
I am an engineering student and as a project I plan on building a master-slave robot arm. For this I will be using say around 10 servos and 10 8 bit ADCs and so am guessing will need quite a few I/O pins. Will the axon or the axonII be sufficient or will I have to use multiple MCUs?

Thanks.

unless you need more then 50+ I/O pins you'll be fine with an Axon

Would suggest the Axon II, rather than the Axon, as more of the PWM pins are available which are good for controlling servos.

Another SoR member has used it, along with WebbotLib, to control around 24 servos http://www.societyofrobots.com/robotforum/index.php?topic=11333.0 - and it comes with 16 ADC channels(+more stuff)
