Title: Varying Sensor range
Post by: arigid on May 02, 2013, 05:02:40 PM
I had a digital IR Sensor, which gives a high at 10 cm, is there a way to connect resistors, such that the range can be varied a little, to get a HIGH Value at 6-7 cm?
Thanks for any help!

Without telling us which digital sensor you're using there's no why to answer your question.

I assume from your other thread your using one of these.

In which case I believe the distance characteristics are based on the emitter and lens geometry so there isn't a simple way to change its range. I do see there is a sensor with a 5cm cutoff instead of the 10cm. You could use the other sensor if you don't like the 10cm cutoff point.

Or you could mount the sensor recessed by 3 centimeters.
