I can sell them at $15 each or $100 for a case of 10. Shipping will be worked out depending on quantity and weight etc, As usual I only accept Paypal for your safety and mine :)

Will be posting Pics and more details Specs shortly.

Also Im way over stocked on front and side sensing reed switches, as well as 10k linear pots will be tossing in a bunch with every purchase, and maybe even a couple freebies if you ask nice :D

Just a little info on Reed Switches, just to stop the PMs :)

Here we go, Specs on the Sayama Motors.
12 - 24v
1rpm Per Volt, min 12v
Roughly 5flb of torque
PM any additional quetions :D

I'll take a freebie ;)
You might remember me from before - I bought one DC motor and got another for free
Check out the Roboduino, Arduino-compatible board!

They come fully equiped with a gearhead judging by the pictures...

So what output rpm do you get from the gearhead. Or what is the gearing ratio and motor rpm?

Ah sorry about that, more evidence of why we shouldent post info while tired. its 1 RPM per volt, I have corrected the original post to reflect that.

As for the gear ratio, that is currently a mystery as it is not labeled on the motor, I am currently doing research to find out what it is. Thats also part of the reason I can offer them to you so cheap since we are missing a bit of info, if we had full spec sheets on these we could likely resell them to another company at their original price of $60.00 a motor. And yes they are brand new, never before used etc, we got them as the line of products they were being used for was discontinued, all left over materials for it were declared scrap and given to us.

Hope that answers some questions :)

Bingo, There not built for speed.

This type of motor was used in a machine that was used to move peoples legs up and down during surgery.

anyone think of a interesting way to use these in a project

in my physics class, i will have a 'Rube Goldberg contraption' assignment later on in the semester...I'm thinking a couple of these motors could come in quite useful, as well as the reed switches...they could be used to represent the transition of electrical energy to kinetic energy maybe?   ...the motor could be attached to a wooden wheel perhaps which has sand paper on its circumference, which would rub against a piece of flint...representing the transition of kinetic energy to thermal energy... the possibilities are rather endless....maybe if i build a second $50 bot i could incorporate that into the design.....hmm...have the heat produced by the sparks from the flint and sandpaper-wheel light an achohol burning candle, which would be placed under a string.  when the string burns through, it may release a candle-snuffer onto the achohol burner to extinguish it, yet at the same time also release a lever, which would fall and hit a switch which would power a light which would power a solar panel which would power another light attached to the solar panel which would be close to one of the photoresistors of the $50 bot which would then be programmed to move a servo when X amount of light was present, the movement of the servo may cause a metal marble to fall down a chute and onto another lever, hitting the same switch which turned the light which was shining on the photoresistor on, off.  The marble may then continue down a slope until it falls and wedges itself in between two metal plates, which when connected together via the metal marble connect another circuit which may power another light which may be close to the other photoresistor which will in turn cause the other servo so spin doing something else, which would make something else happen, and then something more, and more , and more, and more....until....i perhaps pop a balloon or rip a sheet of paper, cook an egg, shoot a water gun or something of that sort.

Anyways, using these motors (oh, and the reed switches (something i vow to use)) in a rube goldberg contraption would be very interesting (well, at least to me).

Reed switches are usually used on doors and windows. Security systems often rely on them to know when a door has been opened. Also some toilets use them to turn on fans or lights or automatic smelly things.

The initial application for robots that springs to mind is having 1 part on a robot and 1 part on a charging base station. When the robot has navigated into a base docking unit, the reed switch activates and a charging cycle can initialise.

Or for a patrol robot, Reed switches can become way way points.

Another thing with reed switches is 1 part is a magnet and the other is a switch that is attracted or turned on by the magnet. So using the switches on your robot would give it an easy way to detect magnetic sources (maybe a specialised or auxiliary sensor).

Unless they are reed relays and thats just another thing altogether..

As far as the rube goldberg machine goes, if you watned to hook a reed switch up to the circuit with the motor on it, right between the power and the motor, and make the ball either magnetic, or knock into something magnetic and touch against the reed switch(or even come close to it, there pretty sensitive) thus closing the switch and completing the circuit to activate the motor :)

Mind you thats just my take, they have tons of less than obvious uses.

Anywho, I will be posting a thread shortly with all the motors Iv got, including pics and specs as well as quantity and price :)
