I learned it by playing around with PonyProg lock bits, and by playing around with the registers and such in AVR Studio, and reading the datasheet, and ask questions on this forum and on the AVR Freaks forum.

It will takes years (not hours or days) to really understand a microcontroller. There is still quite a lot that I myself still do not understand . . .

My recommendation is start a project, then just learn what you *need* to know. My $50 Robot will get you started on the very basics . . .

Thanx Admin............Yeah I already started it...........Just that I need to find a good

AVR STK serial/ ISP2 programmer...........

Ive already built MCU....... nd hv debugged it...........

nd I was seeking knowledge so that next time I can build my own MCU

without Blindly following a tutorial.........[:D]
