Title: Zigduino, inspiration or competition ?(Axon Mote related)
Post by: Ro-Bot-X on August 03, 2011, 09:57:30 PM
Zigduino (http://www.logos-electro.com/zigduino/) seems pretty similar with the Axon Mote, was it an inspiration or it is a competitor? First blog post is from May 15th, 2010. (http://www.logos-electro.com/blog/2010/5/16/zigduino.html)
Distributed by SeeedStudio (http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/zigduino-r1-p-869.html?cPath=132_133) too.

it is quite possible that both admin and the zigduino guy thought of the same thing... ???

Fr0stAngel is more or less correct -- both the Admin and I thought of a similar thing in response to the release of the Atmega128RFA1. I found out about the Axon Mote when someone linked to my site from here.

I was especially amused on how we independently decided on the same price, too. But I thought $69.99 would be an inappropriate number, so I have it one cent higher ::)

Great minds think alike, remember many scientific inventions happened in different parts of the world almost simultaneously. Who was first, it doesn't matter. It's good that the products are similar and we can choose which is more appropriate for a particular project and they can "talk" to each other.

Keep it up guys, you both have wonderful products!
Cheers!

You guys know what's coming right?  Someone is going to do a comparison eventually.

Competition is the nature of innovation.  (Yeah I think I said that wrong, but you get my point.)
