Just my opinion, but is would make sense to have the SoR project on this forum, wouldn't it? Am I missing something?

ETA: The site appears broken anyway.

It would be unfortunate to spread this development effort to yet another site, having to subscribe to and follow yet another forum. My opinion is that the effort would be better served if it stays in one location.

i agree with you. the more it gets spread out the fewer people who will be interested in the project thus maybe resulting in it dying again :-[

Not sure why you think OSCAR needs it own area? Does it exist outside of the existing categories: software, electronics, mechanics, constructions, videos and misc?

Ah - but you want a more focused view on OSCAR so that it is more self contained - right. Well surely thats easy - create a forum of your own  :o. Go completely open source via sourceforge (which was my suggestion to start with). Either its a part of SoR (warts and all) or it isn't - in which case "why would Admin want to host it" - but then I'm putting words in his mouth.

So either its a part of SoR or it isn't. And I mean that in terms of us all learning from posts in ANY thread. For those who dont want 'yet another forum to keep checking' then also consider those of us who 'don't want to register for OSCAR' - it works both ways. So convenience is not a reason for doing it either way.

OSCAR and non-OSCAR people can still learn from each other. IMHO you are still trying to build a standard - unless you have say 5 modules already that prove the multi slave/master I2C. So why not have one person who maintains a Member Tutorial on OSCAR that keeps all standards and module building tasks up to date. You don't need the history so having one member page that summarises and cross refs the forum posts would make sense. Of course you could just do this in sourceforge anyway.

i dont quite agree that oscar needs a private section... whats wrong with the threads we have going anyway?
i think maybe we should all get the password to the site spykid99 made so we can edit stuff...
what do you guys think?

that was my idea to begin with!

just have a freewebs page and all OSCAR people have the password to it.

I will set it up.

I will make it tomarrow

PM me and I will give password and username

just use the honor rule

no changing the design of the page
so changing other members module pages(make a new page per module)
all you can do is add a new page for your mod, make a title, add pics, links, HTML code, things like that. BUT ONLY FOR YOUR MODULES PAGE

sound good?

It will be made probably around 9:00 AM est (east coast of usa)

if users want to protect their page they can just plug it up with a password of their choice...
but leave the main page open with all the info so everybody can edit to fix stuff up.

yes, the site is just to discribe your mod. I came up with a way the site works. everyone makes a new page for their site. password protect means you have to enter a password to view it right? also I made the rules for the site on the front page. plz follow them so people dont get mad at
eachother.

PM me if you want the username/password

www.oscarproject.webs.com

when you are done editing plz log off

Hello, can you see we have 3 yes 3 websites to do one job, if someone wants a password for the original site (not the sourceforge) otherwise ask Aselith for the sourceforge details. No hard feelings but opening up ANOTHER website is just unlogical
