Title: Servo modification (Futaba S3003)
Post by: bootstrap on January 13, 2009, 04:27:50 AM
Hi,

I want to know after modifying a servo (as given here is societyofrobots) will it be that the servo will be direction as well as speed control with the PWM?Also will the servos come to a halt at particular PWM value (say at the PWM value at which the direction just reverses). This way I want the robot to move fast ,slow or stop or rotate clock wise or anti using differential drive with the modified servos.

There is no position control with a modified servo. A modified servo will not hold it's position if you stop the PWM.

If you need position control with a modified servo, there are encoder kits you can buy.

Did modify it as you told and was able to develop a GUI (for speed control)
