haha, although this was meant for cheaper countries like crappier parts of Russia and Africa.
but it is generally a good idea. i wouldn't mind giving this thing a few bucks!
they should program it to sing or something whenever someone puts money in...

in big citys there are these mime type people. When someone takes a picture of them, they are forced to give him a dollar. just standing there for 5 min. he made about 50 bucks!!! just think of an entire day!!

They did cool things like dance to music and stuff, and where covered in gold/silver paint.

i might do something like that, more for a personal gain :P. Perhaps i could make a performing robot that could have a set of songs like 20 and dance to it. Though it would cost like £2 to get the request. For example, it averages at about 5 songs per hour, i leave it for 10 hours thats £100 per day :). I could just leave it perhaps in a shopping mall or in a park. But id have to make sure no one takes it because in london there are quite a few dodgy people :P.

yeah, that is one concern i would have. people damaging/stealing the robot...
if i had the robot somewhere i would want to watch over it...
treat it like leaving your child at the mall...

Yes; the idea and concept is wonderful, but people stealing it seems like an irreversible consequence if left on its own (in rich, poor, big, or small cities).

It would add to the entertainment value if they got it to move more or even say more interesting stuff (engaging in a conversation, a-la chatterbot, would also be cool, but difficult to implement using junk parts).
