Shared Power Supply
« on: May 26, 2010, 05:43:40 AM »
I need to use the same power supply for both my servos and my mcu.
Right now my basic system is:  Solar > LDO Regulator > Supercapacitors > Servos -and- > Charge Pump > mcu and ir sensors.

When I run it though I don't get the full 5.0V out of the charge pump for the mcu. If I use batteries for the servos and seperate them from the power then I get 5.0V on my charge pump which makes everything fine for mcu timing and whatnot.

Is there any way I can fix this to where I only have to use the capacitors?
Save yourself the typing. Just call me Zach.

You'll have to tell us for what maximum voltage the capacitors are rated for. Even with an LDO, you need at least 5.6V to get a stable 5V after it.
Also, what voltage does the solar panel outputs?
