Title: Question about picture of avrisp mkII
Post by: garriwilson on July 26, 2007, 11:16:46 PM
Ok I've been having trouble programming the atmega8. It says programming flash... FAILED! Then it can't connect to programmer. Here is a picture. Is the bottom arrow pointing to the header pin where pin 1 from the programmer is supposed to go? It's on page 24.

Yes, I believe the white arrow is pointing to header pin 1.

There is a helpful diagram here:

(Do this at your own risk)  Also, I believe that I have hooked my programmer up backwards before, and nothing bad happened.  You could just try connecting it both ways and see which one works.

As from the figure it is an ISp Programmer so for programming the Microcontroller it depends on the pins to which your circuit which you have configured it goes. in the picture only a dummy circuit has been shown.

Adam there is only one problem about that diagram. It shows the other end of the cable not the one I'm supposed to plug in!! Who needs that?
