out of a total range of 0-10 plzz specify the difficult lvl of making the following robots as i have understated
(ratings will depend on construction,electronics,programming)
1.photovore
2.wall avoider
3.Line Tracer
4.follower robot(a robot who follows someone by detecting motion)
5.Sumo robot

there all the same level, about a 6
#'s 1-4 are all accomplished with the $50 robot

then wat woulf be 7,8,9 ,10 can other kinda bots be done then plzz give ideas and rate them

Almost any robot can range in difficulty level depending on how simple or complex you wish to make it. If you were to go with the simplest designs possible for each you pretty much have them in order of complexity already.
A photovore can be created using just a comparator chip for control. A line tracer could be built the same as a photovore, except with the sensors facing downward and a couple LEDs to provide light thrown in. Wall avoider on the same level except using touch sensors. Etc, etc. The sumobot would be your most complex base type as it would need to incorporate both line avoidance (same concept as tracing, only reversed), as well as a follower, or rather tracker to find the other sumobot.
You can take the simplest of photovore and making it more complex than a biped, backflipping, wrestling robot. Additional sensors to not only find the light, but look for a specific type of light that is best suited for the solar charging circuit that recharges the battery pack. Memory for the photovore to know which locations held the best light sources at different times of day, month or year. It can get quite complex.
In a nutshell, there are robots which are inherently more simple by convention, but that doesn't mean that a robot of that type is less difficult than any other type. It is all about how much you want to put into it.

nice answer so no judging all robots can be made dfficult or easy depending on the creator's perspective i have also learned quite a bit on how many types of bots can be made

4 can be hard why so i was thinking of making one using ir sensors so wont it work???

Following anything can be relatively easy, following a specific object/robot can be very difficult. The easy part is just having an array of sensors facing in different directions forward, such as IR sensors, measure and remember the IR "ping" back times and keep doing it until one of them changes to a "further away" response compared to the previous readings. That is the direction your robot should move. Rinse and repeat. Not overly difficult. Now what happens if your robot is moving along behind an object and it passes another object that is moving away, which way does it go? That is the much more difficult part. Also what happens if your follower robot moves faster than the object it is following, suddenly your sensor readings are incorrect, so you have to add in the robots directionality into the equation.
As I said before, any robot can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. Stick with easy and build from there once you master easy.

thought about the logic but following a specific object can be really difficult and there is where image processing comes in

well to be frank i havent done the 50$ project well it is for those who are beginners but iam not but still i was thinking of doing the project using infrared sensors coz sonar and ir range finder isnt available where i live i dont if it will work but i have to find out :)

In order to lock an object, hell it can be very difficult...
You can track an object as said before, and if other object comes in the way poof!!!
I really like beacon here. It can be hell easy. But in some occasion you may need to make the robot decide if the object which follow is the correct and project a small beacon to the target so it can lock it...
But this is science fiction for a beginner!!!
Please stay real...
And as said a robot can be as difficult as you like it...

Just tracking a object is very easy... but a certain one... That can be a problem...

It is difficult but if superchiku is determined and willing to spend a lot of time on this then he could figure it out

well i was thinking of using certain kind of beacon which i can use for the robot to lock on then ill track it ...well this is the basic idea but iam still doing research abt it
