jshalcott:
i got an old computer moniter, what could i get out of it?

ed1380:
I took apart an old tv, and got wires and caps(for shocking people ;D) and pots, etc. anything you might find interesting
IIRC you might be able to make and osciliascope out of it.

dunk:
be very VERY carefull opening computer monitors.
there are some seriously high voltages in there.
even when the monitor has not been switched on for weeks the capacitors can theoretically still hold many hundred volts.
if you do decide to open up one of these guys, make sure you discharge any big capacitors before you go touching the high power parts of the circuit board.

dunk.

Hal9000:
Aren't some of the things poisonous too?
