laptop and a camera on an rc robot

(1/1)

roboplane2.0:
I am making an rc sumo robot for my science fair, and I was thinking of putting a camera on it and somehow wirelessly show the video from it on a laptop. And I was also think of contolling it with a wireless logitech ps2 contoller. Is a ps2 controller good for that and what king camera should i put on it? And what king of microcontroller and servos should i use for the camera that I want to make 360 turns left or right and the wheels?

Kohanbash:
I have used the logitech rumblepad 2 with a robot that had Linux installed. Using it with a micro will be difficult to read since you don't have any drivers to decode the signals.

If your using a micro or want to avoid coding than you probably want to use a wireless webcam.

for the steering using differential drive is probably the easiest. You can use modified servos on wheels and just alter the speed to turn direction.

roboplane2.0:
what would I use to read the controllers signal and move the wheels and camera?

airman00:
Just buy a cheap wireless camera and connect that to a TV. Then just use a regular remote control to control the robot.
