I had an old Toshiba Tecra gathering dust under my bed, and after reading this :

I thought i could still bring the old piece of junk (233mhz processor) back to life.
So why not rip it apart and turn it into a tablet that weighs a Kilo !
Taking it apart was alot harder then it looks, i forgot about the earths / ground because the inside looked like plastic but it turned out conductive :o
So that also added to the problems. but so far i have only spent $2 so this is the metirials list
1 TOSHIBA TECRA LAPTOP (soz, i don't know what type)
1 BOX THAT WILL ENCLOSE IT (that cost me $2)
1 ENOUGH WHITE PAINT FOR ABOUT 2-3 COATS FOR THE BOX
and after that it's pretty much plug and play..
it's not touch screen (yet) ill fique a way of making it though (ive seen it be done before, it's just expensive)
it's not finished yet, maybe next week, considering it was a load of junk before, i think it's done well.

i'm downloading tiny xp, i haven't used it before im interested in giving it a go
Edit: nLite? I had never heard of it...? but now i know what it is. Why did you post a link for it?
-
nLite is how they created the TinyXP image. You pop in a regular windows XP disc and use nLite to strip out components and make your own version of WinXP.
Just FYI, The guy who made the tinyXP images is obviously English. I had to change a bunch of settings to make it for US English for the keyboard and time zone and etc....
Oh and if you have PCMCIA/PC Card II/III slots on your laptop you're going to need to copy the drivers from a regular windows machine cause they strip those out.
I think its pcmcia.sys or something in System32 folder.
