« on: April 28, 2007, 08:30:55 PM »
I am the one who need help with my board soldered wrong. Someone said a solder sucker would work.I just wanted to tell you that the solder sucker didnt work . What a waste.I guess it is still good for other projects. Now I have to reorder the parts. I knew the 15 watt soldering iron would not work. thanks anyway.

Hmm.. can you elaborate on how it doesn't work?

I still think it'll work given some tries :P

They can sometimes be tricky to use when manipulating your iron and the sucker at the same time,
Make sure the solder is melted when you push the button to "suck up" the solder

I've found that a wick is easier for me to use than a solder sucker.  You stick it on the solder and stick the iron on the wick, and the wick magically sucks up the solder.

Yeap.. if the solder cools and hardens too quickly, leave the soldering iron on the melted solder for a while so it heats a little above the melting point before sucking.

If 15W can be used to melt the solder originally, cant it remelt the solder...

hold the iron on the solder while sucking
