Title: out of range readings of sharp GP2Y0A21YK0F module
Post by: Rajeev on October 29, 2008, 04:45:11 PM
Hi
I am new in this forum.Recently I brought 3 sharp GP2Y0A21YK0F module. It is a 10-80 cm sensor.According to the datasheet the output voltage at 80cm is less than .5V .When I hooked the sensor to 5V and tried to measure its output voltage these are the results that i get:
             1> at 80cm output is .88V .
2> above 80cm( i.e out of range) the output volt starts rising and stays at around .90V .
is it normal to have approximately .90V output if target is out of range.
thanks

Draw a plot of voltage vs distance over several test data points, and you will see a curve start to form.

If you don't see a sloping curve, you're doing something wrong :P
