Computer controlled capacitance/ resistance / voltage / current

(1/1)

airman00:
I just had a great idea.

A power supply or potentiometer or variable resistor all controlled by a computer. Then a program on the PC can be used to give a specific resistance or a specific capacitance to a circuit. This would be very useful when testing out a circuit.
To me all the cirucit would be is a few motorized pots ( w/ servo) and a few servoized ( lol  its like motorized  I guess) variable caps.
You would have around 10 ports all controlled from the serial port and each port's resistance or capacitance or voltage can be controlled directly by a computer.

Has anyone made this yet or do you guys have any ideas?

If it doesn't exist yet i might build it this summer..
