My Wall follower robot (PRB07B) - pictures
snow:
A couple of pictures of a robot that was built by me, my dad and my.
Spec: DC motor (found in old cd-rom drive), gearing 25:1 (acceleration is the master), 9V battery, attiny2313, 2x sfh5110-38 (ir sensor), 2x ld274 (led ir), total weight ~ 180 grams.
Questions and/or comments appreciated.
Tsukubadaisei:
Nice design and boards for both versions. It has some nostalgic feeling. I think you could have use better sensors though. But the way it looks like it seems already good enough.
snow:
SFH5110 is good because reading is easy (digital), quite fast response (about 0,2 msec response time) and quite cheap. We had three different levels for IR LED using MCU three outputs and three potentiometers.
What sensors would you suggest? Analog? Sharp IR sensors are quite expensive here in Slovenia and i am think their response time is a bit high. But on the other hand they provide absolute distance and they are not affected by wall reflectivity.
Maybe some SFH203 would do nice... but here things get more complicated ;)

I just remembered... this robot was doing something like 0,8 m/s on straights.
Admin:
How did you design that board? (looks professional)
Got video? ;D
