The video head drum has got 1 or 2 nice small bearings that you want to hang on to.
No reason to make a tutorial about stripping VCRs, just open and rip out anything that looks useable - Different VCRs have a certain (large) amount of parts in common, but usually a bit of individual parts as well (depends on who made the motor really).
Professional VCRs have a lot more good stuff than consumer gear and broadcast quality (usually Betamax and the like) are stuffed full of quality parts.
The older the VCR, the better mechanical parts and that goes for most consumer gear.
