How would I control my robot remotely?
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:31:02 PM »
Hey there! I am trying to find a good way to remotely control my robot. I have an a controller from and old rc vehicle i use to race and would like to know how to make that control my robot. So far the explanations I have found are very vague or way to expensive! Idk if I can put the receiver in my rc vehicle on my robot and just control it that way or not?

Yeah you could use a RC transmitter/receiver setup.

Hook up the receiver signal pins to the microcontroller, and in the microcontroller code measure how long the pulses are from the receiver. The pulses are from 1ms to 2ms long, with 1.5ms being neutral.
