summary:

This is Rodney Brooks giving a talk on robots, nothing new, but still entertaining and a good summary.

He starts of arguing that more autonomous robots are cheaper - dont have to pay for someone in the loop
gives bad examples . . . I agree, although he gives really bad examples. Its a good description for those who do not fully understand teleoperation yet.

Has cool packbot videos, including one that flies!!!

He claims you can fit the library of congress on an ipod by 2013, using moores law on storage disk space.

What does that mean for us robot builders? PC processing and storage capability in a microcontroller in the next 10 years!

And I fully agree with his last quote, that robots wont take over the world, but that we will instead become robots . . . I want my google brain implant!

Dr. Brooks is always entertaining.  ;)

Has anybody else seen the movie "Fast, Cheap, and out of Control"?
