thanks airman. this plastic has to be some of the best material for building small light robots.
On another note, I think i may have found a mistake in the tutorial for the $50 robot.
Correct me if im wrong, but this is quoted from the tutorial
Now add the LED as shown, slightly above the board. Make sure the longer lead (+) of the polarized LED is on the side closer to the DIP socket. Solder it in, but DO NOT cut the leads! (not yet)
Im currently building my second $50 robot and followed these steps exactly as shown and my led doesnt work again. I thought maybe i put it in backwards last time, but i know for sure i put the longer lead closest to the dip socket this time. For gits and shiggles i put another led up to the old one, making sure to have the shorter side closest to the DIP socket, and it works fine!!.
Not sure if anyone else has caught this, but might make it easier on someone troubleshooting if the tut was updated with this!
