good battery and micontroller for first robot

I found a 9.6 v NIMH battery pack and I'm planing on buying a axon mote any body think I should use another battery pack?

The Axon Mote just needs a 3.6V battery. The added benefit is smaller batteries are cheaper
Now, if you have servos (or other electronics), well that depends on the voltage required for the servos.
What else you hooking up?

Thanks a lot I was not able to build a robot on the summer but i have a idea of what to do for the science fair in my school.
