Hey, I got this buzzer to use with one of my robots but I'm not sure it will work. When I connect it to 5V the sound it makes is barely audible. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a special way to connect it? Is it even mean for DC?

it says it only handles 1 mA. I'm wondering if you fed it too much current and fried it?

and yes, that would work w/ dc

well it still makes a sound its just very quiet.. and it wasn't like it was loud for a quick burst and then quieted

In the spec it said:

Quote

Type    Piezo Transducer, External Drive
Frequency   3.8kHz
Voltage Range   1 ~ 20Vp-p
Voltage - Rated   5Vp-p

By External Drive it mean it need to drive with 3.8 KHz AC and not DC, may be you can connect it to PWM pin

It will only draw as much current as it needs as long as its at 5 volts
